The most beautiful walks and hiking routes in Salzburger Land

The “Krimmler Achental” – Wonderful panoramic walk

The Krimmler Achental is one of the most beautiful high valleys in the Hohe Tauern National Park. Lush Alpine meadows, high alpine vegetation, and the rugged peaks catch the eye of the observer high above the Krimml waterfalls.

“Krimmler Wasserfallweg” – A display of nature for the family

A wonderful hiking route on which to experience the highest waterfalls in Europe with their impressive roar and their healing effects for asthmatics and those with allergies. The Krimml waterfalls have a fall height of 380 m, making them the largest waterfalls in Europe and a unique display of nature. Hiking path no. 40 takes you around a series of bends right next to the huge water masses; an indescribable experience that is not quickly forgotten. There are various viewing platforms for taking souvenir photos. Your guest card gives you free entry.

Zittauer Hütte

From the parking lot of the Alpengasthof Finkau (1.409 m) at the end of the Durlassboden reservoir goes along the natural monument Leitenkammerklamm up to the rustic Trisslalm (1,583 m). Along the stream, it goes straight through the beautiful romantic Wildgerlosvalley. From the material cable car the steep ascent of approx. 1,5 hours to the Zittauer hut, which has been awarded an environmental seal of quality and located at 2,328 m, begins. Once at the top you can expect a magnificent landscape with the Wildgerloslake and the rugged glacier world of Wildgerloskees. Back to the Alpengasthof Finkau's the same way. Total walking time approx. 5,5 - 6 hours
